Rescue a Child
1.5 million children in Bangladesh are living on the street tonight. With your help, we can provide them with a safe shelter away from their current danger.
The Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) revealed that in 2015, there were 1.5 million children living on the streets of the country, with that number expected to grow to reach by 1.56 million by 2024.
In Dhaka alone, it is estimated that 500,000 children are forced to live on the street. Instead of receiving a strong education and a loving family home, these children are living in constant fear of abuse, trafficking and exploitation. This is not right.
It is not just Bangladesh that faces these horrific problems. In Pakistan, the number of homeless children is at 1.3 million – with each poor child deprived of their fundamental rights to education, health, shelter, protection and proper care. Many of these kids have seen things no child should have seen and many turn to drugs to cope with the appalling conditions they’re forced to live in.
