EMERGENCY

Gaza is going through a severe crisis. Hospitals are struggling to treat the many injured people and the number of deaths is rising every day.

Since October 7th 2023, more than 73,000 Palestinians have been killed, including 21,000 children. Over 173,500 people have been injured, while thousands have been trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings. Gaza’s homes, schools, hospitals and essential infrastructure have suffered widespread destruction, leaving communities devastated.

The healthcare system has struggled amid shortages of medical supplies, electricity and water. Food and clean water have also become scarce, leaving families without basic necessities.

Widespread damage to homes, roads and farmland has displaced large numbers of people across Gaza, forcing many families to leave their homes and live in temporary tents or overcrowded shelters with limited access to essential services and protection.

Muslim Charity has been actively responding to this unprecedented humanitarian crisis. We have worked to provide emergency food parcels, clean water and medical aid to those in need. Our teams on the ground are working tirelessly to reach the most vulnerable communities, delivering life-saving assistance where it is needed most.

In partnership with the UN Migration Agency (IOM), Muslim Charity funded 448 emergency family shelter tents for displaced families in Gaza. Some of the tents were installed for families, while the remaining shelters were stored inside Gaza for distribution.

MUSLIM CHARITY
INTERVENTION

Muslim Charity has been working in Gaza since 2013, we have previously partnered with UNRWA which has given us unparalleled access to Gaza whenever there has been an emergency. Currently, we are working in close partnership with UN agencies and international NGOs (INGOs) that have established operations in the region.

Over the years we have provided medical aid and equipment including a fully equipped ambulance to hospitals in Gaza, we continue to provide and distribute purified water safe for human consumption through water tankers as Prophet Muhammad (saw) was once asked, “Which charity is best?” and his reply was “Providing water”. [Ibn Majah]

We have delivered more than 7,842 family food packs to nourish struggling families and distributed 76,465 cooked hot meals, offering warmth and comfort during these challenging times. Our efforts have also brought over 1.7 million litres of clean water to Gaza, addressing 79,534 instances of need and providing essential hydration to communities facing severe water shortages. Additionally, our medical interventions have been sufficient to cater for 210,000 instances of need by the delivery of life-saving medical aid and equipment to hospitals.
