Noor Ahmad is from the affected town of Mashky and says, “we have lost everything, even our food is now buried under mud and water from underground channels is now undrinkable because of excessive mud in it due to the earthquake.” The Balochistan government spokesman, Muhammad Buledi, said “We are seriously lacking medical facilities and there is no space to treat injured people in the local hospitals.” The scale of the territory involved is daunting. Entire villages have been flattened in the impoverished districts of Awaran, Kech, Khuzdar, Panjgur and Chaghi.
In response to the disaster Muslim Charity is on the ground and helping the affected population in Awaran and Khuzdar through the provisions of food, non-food items and medicines. As per our emergency assessments the surviving families need temporary shelters and basic non-food items.
