A Legacy of Hope Record-Breaking Qurbani 2025

$

In a year marked by growing global hardship, Muslim Charity’s Qurbani 2025 campaign has emerged as a shining beacon of compassion and faith. Alhamdulillah, with the support of our dedicated donors, we successfully implemented 28,127 Qurbanis across 13 countries, delivering fresh, nutritious meat to some of the world’s most marginalised communities. This campaign was not just about sacrifice — it was about solidarity, sustenance and spiritual reward.

Honouring a Prophetic Tradition

Eid-ul-Adha commemorates the unwavering devotion of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), whose legacy of selflessness continues to inspire millions. Through Qurbani, Muslims around the world remember his sacrifice by giving from what they love most, sharing the blessings of Eid with the poor and needy.

This year, Muslim Charity helped transform this sacred tradition into a global act of mercy. For many of the recipients, this was the only time in the year they could enjoy fresh meat — an essential source of nutrition too often out of reach.

The Numbers That Tell the Story

Thanks to your Qurbani donations, we were able to deliver:

  • Over 342,000 kilograms of fresh meat
  • To approximately 684,080 people in need
  • Across 13 countries including India, Yemen, Nepal, Uganda and Palestine
  • The meat was sufficient for an estimated 3.4 million meals
  • With 3,675 cows and buffaloes and 2,402 goats and sheep sacrificed in full compliance with Islamic principles

From families displaced by conflict to children orphaned by poverty, your Qurbani reached those who needed it most — wrapped not just in packaging, but in hope.

Behind the Scenes: How We Deliver Your Qurbani

Our strength lies in a deep-rooted local presence through our partners. To ensure every Qurbani was carried out with integrity and efficiency, our experienced partners mobilised community groups composed of mosque imams, school teachers, local leaders and partner organisations in each country we perform Qurbani.

Together, these teams handled everything from:
  • Ethical animal procurement
  • Slaughtering according to Islamic guidelines
  • Hygienic meat packing and distribution
  • Identifying eligible families through community lists and home visits

Special care was taken to prioritise:
  • Women-headed households
  • Families caring for orphan children or elderly members
  • People with disabilities or chronic illnesses

In cases where individuals could not travel to distribution sites, our volunteers went the extra mile — hand-delivering meat to their doorsteps, ensuring no one was left behind.

Changing Lives: One Meal at a Time

Meet Brother Moharram, a father of seven from Nepal. Born with a disability that limits his mobility, he survives by begging on the streets. Despite his daily struggles, he arrived in his wheelchair to collect Qurbani meat for his family.

“We are homeless and sometimes sleep without food,” he said. “Fresh meat during Eid is beyond our imagination. This meat will feed my family for one whole week. In shaa Allah, next year I hope to receive help again.”

Stories like Moharram’s are not rare, they’re a reflection of the lived reality of thousands globally. Through your Qurbani, you helped provide more than just food. You gave a family dignity, joy and a sense of belonging during Eid.

Boosting Local Economies

Our Qurbani campaign is designed to be sustainable and locally empowering. All animals are sourced and slaughtered locally, which stimulates regional economies and creates jobs for:

  • Farmers
  • Butchers
  • Drivers and packers
  • Temporary Eid volunteers

This year, hundreds of local workers earned vital income by participating in the Qurbani campaign — helping them provide for their own families as well.

Why Fresh Meat Matters

Across the countries we serve, poverty and hunger are daily struggles. Many families live on less than £1.50 per day. Without Qurbani donations, meat is often unaffordable and largely absent from their diets.

Fresh meat is more than just food:

  • It's a rich source of iron, protein, zinc and vitamin B12
  • It supports children’s growth, immunity and cognitive development
  • It addresses health inequalities like anaemia and malnutrition
  • It fulfils the religious duty of sharing Eid with the less fortunate

Your Qurbani offered not only nourishment but a lifeline to better health for countless families.
