Qurbani 2017 programme launched: order yours from only £20

It is that time of year when millions of Muslims around the world start making their way to the holy city of Makkah to perform the Hajj pilgrimage. The largest annual gathering of Muslims is truly a fascinating spectacle where men and women of all colours from all regions of the world stand in unison in front of Allah Almighty offering their supplications and prayers.

By virtue of this inspiring occasion and in the footsteps of the Prophets of Allah Almighty, the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Adha is a time of reflection, prayer and celebration of the blessings we have in our lives. Qurbani (or Udhiyyah) is an obligatory aspect of Eid-ul-Adha whereby all Muslims who pay Zakat are encouraged to sacrifice an animal to feed others and in particular the poor and needy.

Like every year, Muslim Charity implements the worldwide Qurbani programme to make it easier for supporters and donors to carry out their Qurbanis by simply donating on our website (www.muslimcharity.org.uk/qurbani) or by calling us on 03000 111 786 or 0207 100 4930.

This year, we are pleased to be implementing the Qurbani programme in a choice of 17 countries around the world and prices range from only £20 per person.

Last year, Muslim Charity was able to feed over one million people around the world and more than 120,000 kilograms of meat was processed and distributed to vulnerable communities on the days of Eid-ul-Adha.

Please visit our dedicated Qurbani page (www.muslimcharity.org.uk/qurbani) to order your Qurbani and help feed needy and displaced families in countries such as Syria, Palestine, Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Somalia and more.

We are also asking our supporters this year to revive a forgotten Sunnah and donate an additional Qurbani on behalf of the Ummah. It is reported that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) not only sacrificed in his own name, but also on behalf of those in his Ummah who could not afford to offer their own Qurbani (narrated by at-Tabarani and Ahmad).

Please remember the supporters, staff, volunteers and partners of Muslim Charity in your prayers in the blessed days ahead.
