Muslim Charity Endorses World Water Day
Water is a shared resource that knows no borders. It is essential to life and for economic, social and human development. While progress has been made 782 million people are still without access to improved drinking water sources and 2.5 billion do not have improved sanitation facilities resulting in the death of 700,000 children every year due to unsafe water and poor sanitation, equating to almost 2,000 deaths every day (United Nations).
Today, Muslim Charity endorses the 20th anniversary of World Water Day, which is a initiative founded by the United Nation to end water poverty by promoting sanitation and universal access to safe drinking water facilities.
