Global Handwashing Day in Asia and Africa | Muslim Charity

On 15th October, Muslim Charity celebrated Global Handwashing Day in communities and schools in many countries of Asia and Africa. Washing hands with soap is the most effective and inexpensive way to prevent diarrheal and acute respiratory infections, which takes the lives of millions of children in the world.

Muslim Charity’s Safe Water programme integrates handwashing along with ensuring the access to clean and safe drinking water for communities and children. It is really simple to educate families, children and all stake-holders on the importance of washing ones hands and other hygienic messages during installation of water handpumps, water wells and other water facilities with the support of donors.

Muslim Charity’s Director of Programmes says, “Partnerships with communities and families to install water facilities brings an advantage of educating children and communities on health hygiene and maintenance of facilities is an integral part of our water projects. With the blessings of Allah (most high) and our supporters and donors, we will be providing water facilities to over 100,000 children and families in countries like Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Palestine and Somalia during 2013-2014. We will ensure that education on health and hygiene along with handwashing education is an integral part of our Safe Water programme”.

Muslim Charity receives lots of requests from the field to assist in access to safe water for children in schools. We thank our supporters and donors and pray for their well-being in this world and in the hereafter. Please support the needy with your donations.
