Jummah Mubarak – Mission Accomplished

This week Muslim Charity through your generous donations has completed the construction of a purpose-built Masjid in the village Nehar Koroona Darra, Tehsil Takht Bhai, Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Masjid is located amongst a hustling community home to an estimated 200 households. Prior to the construction of this Masjid, 190 students would learn to recite the Holy Qur’an in a sheltered mud house.

For Muslim Charity, a Masjid is not only a place for prayer but a centre that caters for the spiritual, educational and social needs of the community thereby making it a functional social hub. It is with this in mind that we supported the Nehar Koroona Darra community in the construction of this facility.

The community gathered a few days ago to commemorate the auspicious occasion of the opening of Masjid Ar-Rayyan. This was a very memorable occasion since 4 students, namely, Harun Khan 13 years old, Sohail Ahmad 13 years old, Zohaib Ali 14 years old and Hazrat Hilal 14 years had also completed their recitation of the Holy Qur’an as they were current students of the existing Madrassa. This was a joyous and proud moment for the students, parents and teachers alike. We pray that their recitation of the Holy Qur’an is a source of salvation for them in this life and the hereafter. Ameen.

As we all congregate today in mosques around the UK to attend Friday prayers, the residents of Nehar Koroona Darra shall also gather today for the first time to offer their Friday prayers within the heart of their community and hear the melodious sound of the Azaan (call to prayer) calling them to pray as well as to the recitation of the Holy Qur’an.

The land for this Masjid was donated by a local person whose wife used to teach local women in their homes. The speciality of Masjid Ar-Rayyan is that we have constructed a separate room and facilities where women can come to pray and learn Islam from female scholars. Providing a dedicated space for females and children to come to, enjoy and take benefit from the facilities provided by the Masjid is something that has been highly appreciated by the locals.

A high proportion of families living in villages in and around District Mardan have low income. Most of the people are farmers. They are engaged in agriculture either directly or indirectly. Industrial labour has increased after the establishment of factories in different parts of the district.

You too can continue to support this project by contributing to help complete the ground floor of this Masjid, that shall be used to help meet the growing demand of this community.

Muslim Charity has a dedicated Masjid Construction Project Team and we like donors of Masjids to be fully involved in the project from sharing with them the initial plans for a Masjid to construction and completion.
