Hazrat Khadija (RA), Mother of the Believers; a beacon of light for the Muslim Ummah

Muslim Charity pays tribute to Hazrat Khadija (RA) by remembering her generosity and urging Muslim brothers and sisters to contribute towards eliminating the suffering of women and girls in countries such as Somalia, Burma, Syria, Palestine, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Iraq and India.

This week marks the passing away of this great lady and wife of the Beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as she passed away on the 10th of Ramadan. She left behind a legacy of supporting and empowering women and it is this legacy that Muslim Charity will be honouring on the Islam Channel tonight on Sunday 21st July 2013 between the hours of 9pm and 5am (UK Time).

Hazrat Khadija (RA), also referred to as Khadija-tul-Kubra (Khadija the Great), is truly a beacon of light for today’s men and women who devoted all her life and wealth for the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and to the cause of Islam. Hazrat Khadija (RA) possessed excellence in character and was also known as “Tahira” (the pure) and was also the mother of Hazrat Fatima (RA), the beloved and revered daughter of the blessed Messenger (peace be upon him). Islam being an eternal charter of humanity has witnessed many personalities who have devoted everything at their disposal in the way of Islam and indeed Hazrat Khadija (RA) stands out and is a beacon of light for our sisters and brothers.

It is mentioned in Sahih Bukhari and in Masnad of Ibn-e-Hambal that Jibra’eel came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said, “O Messenger of Allah! This is Khadija. She has come carrying a bowl of broth or food or drink. When she comes to you give her greetings from her Lord (Allah) and from me…”

Muslim Charity takes pride in initiating a fundraising campaign and dedicates the generous acts of Muslim sisters and brothers to assist the girl, child and women in poor and vulnerable communities. If we want to put our lives on the path of piety and good works, we would have to receive guidance from the life of Hazrat Khadija (RA) because of her generosity, devotion and love for Islam and humanity.

Please do tune in to Islam Channel (UK Sky Channel 813 and viewable online here: www.islamchannel.tv) tonight on Sunday 21st July 2013 between 9pm and 5am (BST, UK Time) where we will be focussing on projects supporting and empowering women worldwide.
