Gratitude Gala: Muslim Charity Staff Dinner in Retford, UK

Muslim Charity’s Chairman and Trustees graciously hosted a heart-warming Staff Appreciation Dinner on Sunday 30th July 2023, at our Head Office in Retford, United Kingdom. The event served as a token of gratitude to the dedicated and passionate team whose unwavering efforts make our global impact possible.

The evening commenced with a soulful recitation from the Holy Qur’an and a tribute to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), led by our respected Trustee, Haji Mohammed Yousaf. Following this, Vice Chairman Bakhtyar H. Pirzada delivered an inspiring welcome address, reflecting on the historical roots of Muslim Charity, which was founded in 1999 at the premises of Jamia Al-Karam, a renowned Muslim boarding school and religious institution in Retford, Nottinghamshire.

He then shed light on the exceptional works and achievements of our Chairman and Founder, Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada, who has been recognised as one of the 500 most influential Muslims in the world. A thought-provoking discussion ensued on the significance of giving charity as well as organising for the purpose of collecting and distributing charitable aid in Islam and the profound impact of serving humanity, as exemplified by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Expressing heartfelt appreciation, UK Director Maroof Pirzada acknowledged the invaluable contributions of all staff members in uplifting communities and alleviating poverty worldwide. He emphasised that Muslim Charity’s remarkable achievements are a direct consequence of its exemplary team efforts, with each individual playing an integral role.

The UK Director extended particular tribute to those staff members that were unable to make it to the dinner as well as the members of staff working overseas in our various countries of operation.

During the event, the UK Director announced that certain milestones of particular staff members will be recognised for the years that they have served humanity through Muslim Charity. This included staff members that have been serving for 5, 6, 11, 12, 13 and even 14 years! All respected members of staff were presented with gifts of appreciation by the Trustees.

The evening also marked the farewell of our Events Manager, Brother Rashid Ali, who has been an invaluable member of the Muslim Charity family since 2017. Over the past seven years, Brother Rashid’s unwavering commitment and dedication have significantly contributed to Muslim Charity’s endeavours. In a legendary feat, he cycled over 5,000 kilometres across 13 countries from London to Makkah, accompanied by Brother Abdul Hannan and Brother Shubo Hussain. This historic journey in aid of our #ChildrenOfTheWorld campaign exemplified his selflessness and determination to serve humanity.

As Brother Rashid Ali embarked on the next chapter of his life, the UK Director and staff members joined in applauding his selfless service and wished him the very best. Brother Rashid Ali expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the Chairman, Trustees and the entire team, reminiscing on the wonderful memories and experiences he shared during the past seven years. The entire Muslim Charity family extends their best wishes for his inspiring journey ahead, hoping that his unique story will inspire future generations of British Muslims to achieve extraordinary goals in their lives.
