As floods continue to wreak havoc in Pakistan, Muslim Charity is providing Cooked Meals, Non-Food Items and Medical Aid

Hundreds of villages have been submerged in flood waters and thousands of families have become homeless and shifting to safe places or temporary relief camps. The floods have taken lives of human beings, livestock as well as destroyed cotton and rice crops thus depriving the population from normal life and livelihoods. In District Jhang and Muzaffargarh the families engulfed by floodwaters are receiving cooked meals, necessary Non-Food Items and Medical Assistance through Muslim Charity and its partners on the ground in Pakistan.

“The plains in District Jhang are flooded and water levels are rising so is hunger and the needs of medical aid, shelters are becoming scarce and so is clean drinking water”, explained Sahibzadah Pir Mazhar Hussain who is overseeing flood relief efforts in Jhang City. Muslim Charity and its partners are distributing warm meals to the people who can make it to safety. Muslim Charity is utilising available funds and resources but it is not enough due to the magnitude and widespread destruction and number of families affected. We urge donors and supporters to contribute towards the Pakistan Floods Appeal so that we can maximise the relief efforts.

The old aged along with children and pregnant women are among the most affected. Muslim Charity volunteers are ensuring to reach the stranded people through all means. For many a warm meal is the only source of energy in a day.

Muslim Charity’s ground teams along with the Rescue 1122 service are ensuring the safety of people by helping families to move to safer places and then further to established relief camps.Medical camps have been established by Muslim Charity in and around different relief camps to help people with lifesaving medicines and other assistance. Medical camps are helping to minimize the stress on hospitals. We request our donors and supporters to contribute towards medical aid to help in saving lives of the flood affected people.Muslim Charity is utilising its fleet of ambulances to transport the patients either in medical camps or hospitals as per requirements. The government means of transportation are exhausted and there is a severe need of operational costs to run the transportation. Please donate generously.

Thousands of villages in Chiniot, Jhang, Khushab, Kabirwala, Old Chichawatni and Sargodha have been submerged in the floodwaters which have made their way into Bhawana city. Hundreds of villages have been swallowed up by water as dozens of safety barriers have ruptured. Around 400,000 cusecs of floodwater reached River Chenab at Head Trimmu on Tuesday morning and the water level is rising constantly.

Thousands of villages in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gujrat, Sialkot, Jhang and Multan have washed away. We require ongoing support and donations from our supporters  and donors to continue assisting the affected population. Please donate generously.
