Across Asia and Africa, there are places where a standard hand pump or a water well are not adequate enough solutions in supplying clean and useable water to communities. Whether that is because of a sufficient lack of water or because the only viable source of water is too far underground for traditional methods.
This means the only solution is to build a well deep enough to reach a water source, but one that will need an electrical pump to extract water through.
Whilst it is possible to build one using a diesel generator, this is an incredibly expensive solution due to high fuel costs and requiring regular maintenance.
A Solar Water Well is seen as a better solution thanks to them being proven to be financially, operationally and environmentally more efficient. An initial big expense, the solar wells are able to extract water multiple times a day at a low cost.
Installing a Solar Powered Water Pump is a fantastic way to provide entire community with a regular and large supply of clean water not just for drinking and washing, but also for watering crops and keeping animals healthy.
They truly are a game changing addition to a community, but in order to be able to supply more people with this gift we desperately need your help. Each well costs £20,000 to install and without generous donations we simply will not be able to help some communities.
Once built, a solar well is capable of being connected to a large reservoir tank for storing water, which will ensure there will always be constant supply of fresh water. We can even build an underground pipe network to bring that water supply closer to people’s homes.
Thanks to being solar powered, costs are kept to a minimum when installed, ensuring villagers will be able to maximise the well for years to come.
