Addressing for Gaza Crisis | Muslim Charity’s calls On UK Scretary

Monday, 19th November 2012

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Muslim Charity along with other leading Muslim NGOs and members of the Muslim Charities Forum today wrote a joint letter that addresses the Secretary of State William Hague. The MCF is an umbrella organisation for Muslim-led humanitarian NGOs based in the UK.

MCF along with Muslim Charity call upon the British Government to encourage all parties involved in the conflict to comply with their obligations under International Humanitarian Law with respect to safeguarding the lives and dignity of the civilian population. The letter also stresses the need for affected civilian populations in Gaza to have unrestricted access to humanitarian aid as necessary, and to ensure that all humanitarian workers, medical staff and hospitals are protected.

The situation in Gaza is deteriorating day by day, families have been severely affected and homes have been destroyed. So far 46 Palestinians have been killed and more than 400 have been injured and these numbers are increasing on daily basis.

Muslim Charity has launched its Gaza Crisis Appeal and is working with its partners on the ground to provide emergency relief kits and family relief packages containing food items as well as non-food items. As a result of the shortages of medical supplies in hospitals, Muslim Charity is focussing on the medical needs of Palestinians as a priority. Please support the appeal and donate generously.
