A 5-day unforgettable experience in Istanbul!
4th to 8th November 2022
Join Team MC running club for its 3rd marathon challenge in Turkey, Istanbul. You will be among 20,000 people running in between the continents of Europe and Asia, raising funds for the victims of the Pakistan & Bangladesh Floods.
This iconic marathon will take you through the heart of Istanbul, passing through some of the most historic sites in the world, such as the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque.
The 5-day trip will also allow you to visit the Topkapi Palace Museum, where you will immerse yourself in Ottoman history and get a chance to view some of the ancient Muslim relics such as the swords of the companions and the seal of the Prophet peace be upon him.
The course of the Istanbul Marathon passes near Hagia Sophia Mosque (formerly a museum), but this should not be enough for you. After the race, it is worth going back to explore this gem, dating back to the year 325 A.D and named the 8th wonder of the world.

THE CAUSE: PAKISTAN AND BANGLADESH FLOODS
PAKISTAN FLOODS KILL 1,300+ PEOPLE
Heavy rains have resulted in urban and flash floods, landslides, and Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOF) across Pakistan, particularly affecting Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Sindh Provinces.
More than 1.5 million houses have been partially or completely damaged, around 800 schools (600 in Balochistan alone), were damaged and 246 bridges and 6,579 km of road sections have been affected.
BANGLADESH: THE WORST FLOODS IN A GENERATION
The recent heavy monsoon rains have led to rivers bursting their banks, cutting off around 500,000 people in northeast Bangladesh. Many families are stranded and could run out of food within days!
Sylhet and Sunamganj are worst affected with the entire electricity connection cut off all over Sylhet district earlier on 18th June 2022 due to all sub-stations being submerged in flood water.
