Help a mother during her pregnancy with essential medicines and vitamins
Whilst the maternity mortality rate is dropping, there is still a major problem. With over half of the world’s population living without access to essential healthcare services, expectant mothers and children are facing real problems. There is a clear disparity between wealthy countries and families and poor families; we firmly believe healthcare should not be dependent on how much you earn.
In 2017, 5.4 million children under the age of five died and the risk of infantile death is eight times higher in Africa than it is in Europe. Alongside that, the same study revealed that globally 810 expectant mothers died every day from preventable causes related to pregnancy a child birth. Perhaps even more shockingly, 94% of all maternal deaths occurs in low and lower-middle income countries.
The choice of life and death should not be dependent on the overall wealth of your family or the country you live in. We want every mother to experience the joy raising a child is and with your help we can provide essential healthcare services to mothers around the world.
SAFE DELIVERY: We not only provide the equipment and services needed to ensure a safe delivery but also provide trained professionals to provide assistance. We have helped support hospitals with medical equipment, access to laboratories and operation theatres as well as training gynaecologists and GP services 24 hours a day. A safe delivery costs just £150 so whatever you can afford to donate will help bring another baby into the world.
INCUBATORS: Since 2013, we have worked with hospitals across Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Lebanon, Kenya and Yemen by delivering 125 neonatal incubators to those areas that needed them most, helping to save the lives of over 40,000 premature babies.
AMBULANCES: Here at Muslim Charity, we have been able to provide 26 ambulances in countries such as Pakistan, Bangladesh and Somalia which has been able to help over 23,000 patients. Each ambulance is fully equipped and comes with ventilation equipment, fixed and portable oxygen apparatus, obstetrical kit, immobilisation devices (such as wheelchairs and stretchers), bandages and emergency kits as well as the standard equipment needed for a trained paramedic.
It is not just about providing the services and doctors in the delivery, but also about safeguarding mothers and infants from future problems. Your donation, no matter how big or small, will let us provide safe delivery of a new born and Fistula Surgery alongside things such as Infant Incubators and Ambulances.
