The Cause

The death toll from recent hostilities in Gaza has exceeded 230 including 65 children and 39 women, while 1,710 were wounded in Gaza, Palestine (Palestinian Ministry of Health-Gaza).

Gaza is in crisis. Hospitals are requiring urgent medical supplies. The recent escalation in violence could not have come at a worse time as the Gaza Strip is already grappling with a weak healthcare system and a lack of medical resources.

According to ReliefWeb, the North Gaza Seawater Desalination Plant has had to stop operations due to the risk to workers and a damaged supply line, affecting 250,000 people. The main electricity feeder to the region has also been damaged, affecting 65% of Gaza's water and sanitation facilities. In Gaza, there is an acute water crisis. Over 90% of households have a tap where clean water once flowed, but today the water is no longer safe to drink. Gaza needs regular safe and clean water supplies urgently not only for the domestic needs of families but to run the health facilities too. Please donate generously.

Muslim Charity has been working in Gaza since 2013, we have previously partnered with UNRWA which has given us unparalleled access to Gaza whenever there has been an emergency. Over the years we have provided medical aid and equipment including a fully equipped ambulance to hospitals in Gaza, we continue to provide and distribute purified water safe for human consumption through water tankers as Prophet Muhammad (saw) was once asked, Which charity is best? and his reply was Providing water. [Ibn Majah].

Muslim Charity has established partners on the ground in the Gaza Strip and connections with hospitals for the provision of medical supplies and emergency aid. In addition to that, we have been providing food packs to needy families and sponsorships of vulnerable children, orphans and families. More recently we have been providing COVID-19 hygiene kits to help combat the spread of the pandemic.
